We met in 2018 with a mutual swipe right on Bumble and within a few messages we had plans to meet at a cocktail lounge downtown the coming weekend. Over gin and tonics, Eric and Melissa hit it off, and two hours later we didn't want the date to end so we went for late-night pizza. We were smitten.

We spent increasingly more time together and fell in love easily over the next months...

...and years. We built a life together with lots of strong coffee, quality family time, good food, good friends, travel, and time spent together in our 350 sq ft studio apartment in the North End. (We've since upgraded to 500 sq ft.)

We visited Melissa's family for Christmas and after presents and mimosas, everyone bundled up to take family photos - a Chao family tradition. When it was our turn for couples photos, Eric grabbed Melissa's hands and completely surprised her when he got down on one knee.
