As most love stories these days, ours starts with a swipe on a dating app. Melissa came across Kyle’s profile and made the first move. After only a few days of talking we knew we had to meet in person. We figured meeting somewhere in the middle would be best and decided on Tarrytown. The town happened to be having a Winter Festival so it sounded like a cute first date. Kyle suggested they both park in the same parking lot and walk over to the festival together. He sent Melissa a location on google maps and to her surprise, pulled into a funeral home parking lot. Yes, you read that correctly it was a funeral home parking lot… Obviously, Kyle didn’t realize that when he chose it. Upon entering the parking lot, Melissa briefly considered if she was about to get murdered but ultimately made the best decision of her life and went on the date anyway. We started the date by taking a walk down Main Street to check out the Winter Festival and grab some dinner. Little did we know that on this first date we would be eating dinner at our new favorite restaurant, moving in together five minutes down the road, and walking by the store that Melissa would buy her wedding dress from two years later. By the end of the night, date number two was planned, and both of us were pretty sure they had just found the one.
After many months of planning, Kyle proposed to Melissa at Scargo Tower in Cape Cod on May 25th 2023. It was meant to be a surprise but Melissa had her suspicions. That morning Kyle asked Melissa if she was going to shower or at least straighten her hair before going out to breakfast. She instantly knew what was about to happen. They got in Kyle’s truck and the GPS flashed Scargo Tower so not even the location was a surprise anymore. The drive over was filled with country music, Kyle nervously talking, and some happy tears. We parked the car and climbed to the top of the tower where within seconds Kyle was down on one knee.
