Our story begins in a packed bar in Scottsdale. Melissa spotted a group of people she recognized and walked over to say hi. But her eyes quickly landed on someone she didn’t recognize—a ridiculously handsome guy named Connor. Without hesitation (and zero context), she grabbed his face, looked him in the eyes, and said what we were all thinking: “You're the most beautiful man.” And just like that… she disappeared into the crowd.

Fast-forward about a month, and fate stepped in again. Melissa walked into her new work training class and there he was. Connor. Both surprised and slightly amused, they reconnected, started talking, and not long after, Melissa invited him on a 10-mile backpacking trip. She expected a polite “no thanks.” Instead, he said yes.

That trip sparked something special, and the adventures haven’t stopped since. They built a life together in Phoenix with their first dog, Kiki, Connor’s childhood pup and the sweetest girl. Kiki was there for the early days of their relationship and welcomed Coco, their second pup, into the family with grace (and just a little sass). Not long after, Kiki passed but her gentle spirit left a lasting imprint on both of their hearts.

In time, they brought home Beau a feisty little pup and eventually moved to Colorado Springs, trading the desert for the mountains. There, their home grew even fuller with a sassy kitten named Bandit and a surprisingly mellow lizard named Timothy.

One of the things that bonded them most was their shared love for animals and adventure. Together, they’ve traveled all over the world. Exploring the streets of Italy, ziplining through the rainforests of Costa Rica, relaxing on the beaches of Mexico, dancing through the colorful neighborhoods of Puerto Rico, and sightseeing in London. But the most unforgettable destination of all? Thailand, where Connor totally surprised Melissa by proposing… with an elephant. (Yes, really.) After the shock and happy tears, they spent the rest of the day hiking through the jungle, soaking it all in.

Now, they’re getting married, and this time, they know exactly where they’ll be at the end of the night: together, surrounded by the people (and pets) they love, ready for the next chapter of their greatest adventure yet.
