Their eyes first met on a sunny Florida afternoon on Spring Break of 2010. They didn’t really know each other at the time, but that would soon change for good when Melissa decided to Facebook message Josh after some encouragement from her mom. The two continued dating throughout the remainder of high school together at South Lyon East and eventually ended up at college together at Michigan State. Their love continued to grow over the years away at school and they graduated a semester apart from one another. As Josh started his working adult life, Melissa continued her schooling at Wayne State in Occupational Therapy. Even with different life events at this time, the two remained together and continued fostering their relationship and their love, knowing that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Finally, over Labor Day Weekend of 2019, Melissa and Josh returned to Michigan State for the opening football game of the season. As they were walking over the Library bridge on their way to the tailgate before the game, Josh dropped to one knee and asked Melissa to marry him. Melissa said, "Duh!" Melissa and Josh surprised family and friends attending the tailgate with the news followed by a weekend celebrating with family up north. The two have been counting down the days until the wedding and the beginning of their married life together ever since!
