For Edward’s 40th birthday bash, Melissa was invited to the party by mutual friends. There were hundreds of partygoers packed into the Cherry Suite at the top of Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Within an hour, Edward and Melissa started talking, and they became inseparable the rest of the evening. Love at first sight?  The rest was history…

The Meet Cute

On August 26, 2018, a weekend trip to Rancho Bernardo Inn in Temecula wine country became a new chapter for the love birds. Edward had been nervous for a few days, and Melissa was curious what was going on inside his head. Desiree was running late from college to meet us for dinner. Once she arrived, Edward could not wait any longer. He dropped down next to Melissa and proposed on the spot! Everyone in the restaurant cheered, and Melissa was so surprised. The manager brought out strawberries and Champagne to celebrate. The rest of the night was a very happy blur.

The Proposal

After 13 years, Edward and Melissa couldn’t be happier. Melissa loves Edward’s humor, style and spontaneity. Edward loves Melissa’s caring, sweet and supportive nature. They both share a love for travel, fast cars and delicious food/wine. The ocean waves beat in their hearts, which is why we are all heading to Maui for the next chapter!

Edward and Melissa are keeping it simple, with a modern bride-and-groom only ceremony. They will be joined that day by Edward’s daughter Sally, her husband Ben, and Melissa’s three children Desiree, Anyssa and Avery. Only close family and friends were invited to attend the event to create a personal and intimate day.

There are various types of accommodations including large resorts, boutique hotels, Airbnb and VRBO rentals. Traveluro.com and Trivago.com are excellent hotel search engines. There are also independent vacation rental companies for condo/timeshare properties, such as Aloha Vacation Villas in Kapalua.

Where To Stay

Ride-sharing services&nbsp;such as Uber and Lyft operate in Maui.&nbsp;There are on-site rental car locations at the airport. Jeeps are a popular option, if planning to visit the Road to Hana or the dormant volcano, Haleakalā. The average cost of gas in Hawaii is currently $5.50 per gallon.
