Young Steven and Melissa met in the fall of 1997 in the band room at the Cheboygan Area High School. Steven played the saxophone while Melissa played the trumpet. Throughout their high school journey together in band they became close friends. They had a close group of friends they did lots of things with. Melissa's senior year her and Steven attended her senior prom together. Steven was only a junior at that time. Prom was interesting and then Melissa graduated from HS and went on to LSSU for her first year of college while Steven finished up HS.

Winter of 2002 Steven came into family video where Melissa was working while he was on leave serving in the United States Army. They got together and dated for a short period of time. Soon after Steven went back to Georgia they decided to part ways and that is where the 22 years passed till they met again. In those 22 years they both were married and each had 4 beautiful children.

Spring of 2024 Steven was on a work trip in Colorado and Melissa was also on a work trip in Wyoming. They both happened to be in Fort Collins at the same time meeting friends for dinner one evening so they both decided to meet after dinner for drinks to catch up. This was nothing but two old friends catching up on the last 22 years of their life.

However, as we all know now that is where their story began again. They both had been unfortunate in their marriages and both were content on focusing on their children and careers. That evening they laughed and caught up for many hours. That week on work travel they were both able to meet up the next few evenings after work. Friday came and it was time for Steven to return to Wyoming and Melissa to head back to Kansas.

Melissa's job would bring her back to Cheyenne, Wyoming monthly and Steven lived a couple hours away from there in Casper, Wyoming. They decided to give this a shot. No distance would come between what they found in one another and always longed for. Since then they have slowly started to blend their family's and look forward to the beautiful life they have ahead.
