Q + A

HOW DO I GET FROM THE CANCUN AIRPORT TO THE RESORT?

Guests within our Sunwing Wedding Group have ground transportation included in the travel package. A free shuttle bus will meet us at the Cancun airport and take us to the resort. It is a 29 km drive which takes about 45-60 minutes depending on traffic. If you have not booked within the Wedding Group then you will need to arrange your own ground transportation. We highly recommend arranging this in advance with one of the popular shuttle companies, or alternatively you can use Uber.

IS THE RESORT ALL-INCLUSIVE?

Yes! This 5-star family-friendly resort offers first-class personalized services and excellent facilities on the pristine beach of Costa Mujeres. Enjoy access to more than 20 restaurants and bars where you will eat and drink for free. There are premium experiences available for an extra charge, but there is no reason or need to upgrade in order to have an amazing time. Please visit their website for more information on all the services and amenities!

WHAT TIME IS CHECK-IN?

Check-in is at 3:00 pm, although if you arrive earlier you can access the facilities. We recommend bringing a duffle or carry-on bag to hold items such as your swimsuit so that you can conveniently leave your checked luggage safely at the front desk until your room is ready.

IF MY CHILDREN ARE TRAVELING WITH ME, ARE THERE ANY SUPERVISORY SERVICES AVAILABLE?

Yes, we have a few guests traveling with children and we're pleased to confirm that the resort is a very family-friendly place. Baby Club (ages 1-3) and Kids Club (ages 4-12) run every day from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm at the Splash Pool, and the Teens Club (ages 13-17) runs from 3:00 - 11:00 pm at the Village area. The resort also offers a Babysitting Service for an additional fee and upon request.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER AND CLIMATE LIKE IN CANCUN?

In March, Cancun generally experiences warm and pleasant weather, making it an ideal time for a beach wedding vacation. Average high temperatures range from 28°C to 29°C, rarely dipping below 25°C or exceeding 31°C. March is also one of the driest months, with minimal rainfall and plenty of sunshine.

WILL YOUR WEDDING BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

All events will be held outdoors (as long as weather permits). We recommend that you wear sunscreen and bring a pair of sunglasses for the ceremony. We will provide handheld fans to help keep you cool!

WHAT’S THE DRESS CODE FOR YOUR WEDDING?

Our dress code is Tropical Chic attire such as flowy dresses or rompers, light suits or separates, comfortable yet stylish footwear. Ladies, kindly refrain from wearing white or ivory. Stiletto or otherwise thin heels are not recommended due to the deck spacing and sand. No beachwear please.

AM I ALLOWED TO TAKE PHOTOS/VIDEOS AT YOUR CEREMONY?

No, we kindly ask that you keep our wedding ceremony unplugged and refrain from taking any photos or videos. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special time, with no phones in sight. :) We have hired a professional photography and videography team in order to capture all the highlights of the day. We promise to share the footage with you!

CAN I POST WEDDING RECEPTION PHOTOS/VIDEOS ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

We would love for our guests to take photos and videos during the cocktail hour and reception. Please feel free to share on your social media and with us!

WHAT TYPE OF FOOD AND DRINKS WILL BE SERVED AT YOUR WEDDING?

We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a buffet dinner during the reception. There will be an array of options available including chicken, beef, fish, salads, soup, pasta, rice, vegetables, and desserts. The events will feature an open bar with a wide selection of beverages to choose from.

WHAT IF I HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES OR RESTRICTIONS?

If this applies to you or your family please let us know in advance so that we may inform our onsite Wedding Coordinator. The resort has a very good reputation and will make every effort to accommodate any special dietary needs or restrictions, such as allergies, vegetarian, diabetic, etc.

WHERE SHOULD WE BRING/SEND OUR WEDDING GIFT?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would still like to honour us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home (please request address from us directly), and a wedding card box will be at our reception. We have also included an Our Registry tab for our Honeymoon Fund.

WILL THERE BE OTHER EVENTS TO ATTEND DURING THE WEDDING WEEK?

All of our guests are invited to join us for a Welcome Cocktail Party as well as a Farewell Pool Party, and information can be found on the Event Details tab. We will also have optional daily meet-up locations that you are welcome to attend if you are interested. We would like our guests to have ample time to do their own activities while also providing opportunities to gather as a group throughout the week. Please visit the Things To Do tab for guidance on planning your activities.

WILL THERE BE A WEDDING REHEARSAL?

Yes, there will be an arranged ceremony rehearsal followed by dinner for the wedding party and immediate family. This will take place on Wednesday, March 18th and details will be provided directly to mandatory guests.

WHAT IS THE TIPPING POLICY AT THE RESORT?

Tipping is not required, but much appreciated. Tipping the resort staff is a way to show appreciation for good service, and general guidelines suggest tipping daily for housekeeping ($2-$5 per day), as well as servers, bartenders, and bellhops ($1–$2 per bag, or $5 for several pieces of luggage) as you receive service. We recommend that you bring cash with you in the form of local Mexican Pesos or small USD bills.

WHAT ARE SOME IMPORTANT ITEMS THAT I SHOULD PACK?

Make sure to pack essential documents like your passport, travel information, along with formal and casual clothing for various events like the wedding, activities and downtime. Bring a toiletry kit including medications, makeup and hair products, and sunscreen in your checked luggage (it tends to be very pricey at the resort/airport!). It's also a good idea to pack a separate carry-on bag with device chargers, a versatile outfit or two, and a swimsuit in case your luggage is delayed.

WHERE WILL WEDDING UPDATES BE POSTED?

Additional updates will appear on our Knot wedding website and Facebook page leading up to the wedding week. We will also be creating a WhatsApp chat for all our guests once the week commences. Our Wedding Planner and Coordinator will be pleased to share information and instructions with you directly at this time.
