Cinque Terre holds a very special place in Ryan &amp; Melissa's heart. In 2022, during their first trip to Italy, the two decided to venture to Cinque Terre, which in Italian translates to, "Five Lands", denoting the&nbsp;5 villages&nbsp;that make up this territory. From Florence, the trip takes about 2.5-3 hours and tickets only cost 18-30 euros! We recommend you take a regional train directly from Santa Maria Novella (SMN) to La Spezia and from there change to a local Cinque Terre Express train to your destination in Cinque Terre. We also suggest that you not book your stay using Orbitz (or a third-party)... If you don't already know the story and want a good laugh, get a few drinks in Ryan and Melissa and be sure to ask!

From Florence, there are around 23 direct services available to Venice, AND you don't need to worry about changing along the journey. When traveling on this route, you'll board a train at Firenze Santa Maria Novella station, cruise through the Italian countryside and arrive at Venezia Mestre station. Many of Trenitalia's Frecciargento AV trains make the daily journey between Venice and Florence in just 2 hours and 5 minutes, traveling up to&nbsp;155 miles per hour. Italy's high-speed trains are equipped with air conditioning and electrical outlets at your seat to charge devices, and most importantly, a bar cart!

For the quickest travel, we recommend you first&nbsp;take a high-speed Frecciarossa or Italo train from Florence to Milan and then a regional train from Milan to Como. The average journey time by train between Florence and Como San Giovanni is&nbsp;3.5 hours, with around 56 trains per day. If you plan on flying into or out of Milan, its only about 40-60 minutes from Milan Centrale Station (Milano Centrale) or Milan Nord Cadorna&nbsp;to Como San Giovanni, (Como's main station), or Como Nord Lago. Calling all Chianti lovers! Castello La Leccia is located in the heart of Chianti Classico region. For those of you renting a car during your stay, La Leccia is about a 40 minute from from La Pia. Seize the opportunity to discover this charming organic winery! The tour at Castello la Leccia starts in their Italian garden where you can admire a breathtaking view of the region including Siena, Monteriggioni and San Gimignano! The tour is accompanied with a snack of typical Tuscan cheeses, and you will taste their Extra Virgin Olive oil on Tuscan bread! Castello la Leccia also offers the opportunity to experience a half day guided wine tasting tour with a private driver into the heart of Chianti Classico. In additional to wine tasting, they also offer a Tuscan cooking class, which includes traditional food such as homemade pasta and pizza! Lord knows we'll all be needing lots of carbs to cure the post wedding hangover! Joe and Marta took Melissa &amp; Ryan to dinner here on the last night of their 2023 trip, along with their local butcher, who sells his meats to Castello la Leccia!
