We scheduled our first date on a night Anthony was flying home from a trip however, after flying in later than expected we rescheduled for the next day.
Let’s try this again- our first date at Ruby’s Jazz Bar. She ordered a Guinness, he order a Coors Light and the night flew by with laughs, stories, first date cliches and things that we still joke about this day. Little did we know, everything around us would quickly change..
If you thought living during a pandemic was a different experience, imagine starting date someone. We got to share new experiences and introduce each other’s culture to one another. As the pandemic became a normal part of everyday life, Melissa moved into Anthony’s house- making it a home.
Now, you can “rehearse” a proposal in your head a million times but boy, is it different when the time comes. One of our favorite things to do together is to go camping, so we packed up the car and hit the springs.
So here we are, 4/20/2022- camping for our anniversary. He knew where and when he wanted to propose but got too nervous at first! Well, long story short- the clock is ticking and he walks her back to the location he had in mind again. The timing was perfect, the sun shining down on her and he looks at Melissa and says “You look so beautiful right now, may I take your picture?” *click* she turns around to look at the water and by the time she turns back around to him, he’s on his knee. Anthony purposed and through the tears falling down her face, Melissa said “Yes, of course!”.
Our first date at Ruby’s was more than a date, that night changed both of our lives forever. Working closely with the jeweler, Anthony was sure to add rubys to the ring so their special evening will always be with them. Although we couldn’t wait to get married- we took our time to plan a unique but minimal wedding. We’re eager to invite you to a city that we love for a celebration of our marriage!
