We met on a dating app, shout out to Hinge! We had common interests on our profiles (beach & happy hours of course) which encouraged both of us to message with each other. A few days later, we had our first date at Victory, Downingtown. During our first date, it poured rain and stormed terribly. Keep in mind that this date was outside because COVID restrictions were still in place (August 2020). After a few weeks, we realized we really loved spending time together. We met each others families soon there after and the rest is history! 9 months later, Melissa left her job and moved to Palmyra, Phoebe and Sli included.

Casey proposed on 4/29/2023 and Melissa was so surprised! He pulled off a surprise proposal after working on the Pretzelvania pretzel truck, owned by The Smith Family. Melissa had invited all of her friends and family to come to the event. Everyone was able to come, but that didn't surprise her because all of those friends are family and have spent so much time with the Mathis family for many years, always supporting adventures. Casey got everyones attention in a completely normal way; Melissa had no idea until the second he got on one knee!

Now, we are 3 years in and planning the best day of our life together!
