I have to brag on Dudley because really outdid himself with the engagement. He managed to give me all of the surprise and romance I've always dreamed of. For Valentine's Day 2016, I made Dudley a coupon book in which I planned one date for each month of the year. I was living in Richmond for several months that year while finishing my Master's degree at EKU. With the 3-hour drive between us, and the craziness of my school schedule, we missed a few of the dates that I had planned. In October, I was finally back home and was fresh at my job at SKY Rehab. We celebrated our one year Anniversary on Tuesday, October 25th during which Dudley's gave me a gift certificate for a 1 hour massage at a spa in Bowling Green. He had made me an appointment for my massage for the following Friday, October 28th knowing I was scheduled to be off work that day. Dudley took off work on Friday and chauffeured me to the massage and then treated me to lunch at Shogun. While at lunch, Dudley told me he had planned 3 mini dates for us to do that day since he felt bad about the dates we had missed so far. When we got back to Russellville, Dudley gave me the first date card, which read something along the lines of "let's make spooky Halloween treats together." After we made our stuffed jalapeno mummies, Dudley gave the 2nd date card, which said "let's go for a walk on the farm and find a pretty spot to watch the leaves fall." We packed up some wine and a blanket and took a walk on the farm. Dudley took me to a gorgeous spot, set out our blanket and poured some wine. We sat a talked for a while until my impatient self demanded he tell me what was in store for date number 3. Dudley pulled out the third card from his backpack, which read, "spend the rest of our lives together loving, learning, and enjoying each other every day." By the time I was done reading the card, Dudley was down on his knee with a box holding the prettiest ring I've ever laid my eyes on. That's all folks. The rest is history.
