Our story may have been a little different if it wasn’t for a snowstorm in January of 2015. While we had known of each other for years (it is Hastings after all), neither one of us realized what that meeting outside of the firehouse on Warburton Ave would really mean for both of our lives.
Brian’s “smooth moves” shined that night when he made a quick decision to wait it out inside the firehouse while Melissa walked through the snow towards him. With a charm and almost Casanova-like air, Brian opened the door and gave a quick “hey” to Melissa. We made our way to The Mill where we would spend the next few hours creating something truly life changing for both of us.
The next days, weeks, months and years, were filled with daily conversations about anything and everything, adventures near and far, and lots and LOTS of coffee.
We decided to make the next big move and got an apartment together in October of 2019. Little did we know that a pandemic was right around the corner and we would be spending ALL of our time together. Most normal people would say that these big life changes were enough, but that clearly wasn’t the case for us. We thought it would be way more fun to add two little Westies into the mix (enter Ralphie and Gus) and then a Mini Bernadoodle (the not so mini Delilah) just a few years later.
Our lives have certainly changed since that cold night on Warburton, but we are loving every single minute of it. We can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives with those daily conversations about anything and everything, adventures near and far, and of course lots and LOTS of coffee.
