Life consists of many small moments that, like pieces of a puzzle, gradually come together to define your future. Each of these moments is a individual piece of what your future will look like. There's no box to compare your puzzle to. No guide to follow. You put the pieces down and hope that it will all make sense in the end.
Every now and then, one of these puzzle pieces completely changes what you thought your puzzle would be.
In January of 2018, Carson walked into his first job after college and was shown through the office to meet his new coworkers. He said hello for the very first time to a sweet blond girl with a big smile. Unbeknownst to either of them, this small moment was the beginning of a future they would build together.
Carson and Melissa quickly became friends. They were kindred spirits. Two ambitious people looking to make a name for themselves, finally given a chance to thrive at a job they loved. This job was one that involved a lot of travel and they called each other from their respective hotel rooms, ranting about their trainings and the hassles of travel.
For over a year, Carson and Melissa leaned on each other to get through those long travel days. In May of 2019, the two best friends knew their connection was more than that. They started dating, but they wanted to keep it a secret from their friends at work.
Carson and Mel thought that they were sly. They were not. Everyone knew. Honestly, everyone was surprised that the two friends waited so long to get together.
Carson and Mel started to travel the world together. They visited Las Vegas, Turks and Caicos, Alaska, Spain, France, and more. In March 2020, they left for their longest vacation yet (an entire week) to Seychelles, and Mel joked that she hoped Carson wouldn't get sick of her with them being together for such a long time.
Boom. Surprise Pandemic.
After returning from Seychelles, Mel quarantined at Carson's apartment. They began working remotely. They decided to buy a house together. They moved to different jobs. They sold their house in Atlanta and moved to Birchwood, Wisconsin. Since that vacation in Seychelles, Carson and Mel haven't spent more than a week apart.
Their puzzles, completely separate in 2018 and now so intrinsically connected, are waiting on one more important piece. We hope you can be there with us.
