Naples International Airport

Viale F. Ruffo di Calabria, 80144 Napoli NA, Italy
081 789 6111

Italy has several airports to fly into, but the closest airport to the venue is Napoli Capodichino.

The next closest (and where flights can sometimes work out cheaper) is Rome Fiumicino

If you choose to fly into Rome and wish to avoid renting a car, then please consider that you will need to get a train from airport to Termini train station, then the fast train from Rome Termini to Naples Centrale (only 1 hour 10 minutes). From there, we advise on booking a private transfer from one of our contacts as opposed to getting the train to Sorrento.

Train from Naples Airport to Sorrento

The train to Sorrento can be taken from Garibaldi Station. To get here from the airport you can take the Alibus or get a taxi to the train station. There are two trains you can choose from, the public Circumvesuviana or the Campania Express.

The Circumvesuviana is the public train and It runs every 30 minutes. The journey time can be anywhere between 1.15 - 1.5 hours depending on which train you get and the number of stops. The cost is 4.20 Euro for a one-way ticket and be sure to get this before boarding the train.

Although this is the cheapest way to arrive do note that this train is very busy, there is no luggage space, no toilets and generally no AC! Unfortunately pick pocketers can be rife on this train so do be careful with your belongings.

A great alternative local train is the Campania Express is a private service that was introduced to connect Naples to Sorrento and the historical sites i.e., Pompeii and Ercolano (Herculaneum). This train is not as frequent, but the journey time is much quicker (approx. 45 mins).

This train is less crowded, and you are more likely to get a seat and there are spaces for luggage.

Note: If you choose to do this option, then once you get to Sorrento, you can either get a bus (SITA Sant Agata via Priora bus from the train station) or a taxi to your accommodation. Taxis from Sorrento to the wedding venue can range from €40 to €70.

Private Transfers to Sant Agata

The Amalfi Coast has a ban on Ubers, so taxis and private transportation are the other similar options. Below are trusted contacts we have personally used or that friends/ vendors have recommended to us. This typically costs around 140 Euros for 1-2 guests and 160 Euros for 3-5 guests. The drive from the Naples Airport to Sant Agata is about 1.5 hours. We highly recommend that you book your transfer in advance to ensure the best possible price.

Your English-speaking driver will meet you at the arrival hall with a sign and take you to a luxury, air-conditioned Mercedes.

Pros: Travel in style, enjoy coastal views, and get direct drop-off at your accommodation.

Cons: At €175 for up to 7 people, it’s the most expensive option but eliminates travel stress.

If using public transport, consider the distance to your accommodation, luggage handling, and Sorrento’s narrow streets. Taxis start at €15 just to enter the car.

Naples International Airport

Renting a car is a good option if you want to make some stops along the way to Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi and have the freedom to travel around. If you do not want to commit to renting a car, the public transportation is a great way to get around the Amalfi Coast.
