Most likely the #1 travel spot in La Crosse. View La Crosse and the river valley from above, take a hike (Hixon Forest is below the bluff), or maybe visit the Alpine Inn on your way up.
Bodega is part of historic downtown La Crosse. Love having lunch here or a Bloody Mary. Allegedly, it's haunted too. So that's fun.
Favorite bookstore. Both used and new books. Jules Coffee is connected too.
Jules and the Root Note are both worth checking out off 4th Streets and Pearl Street in La Crosse. Jules has a shared doorway with Pearl Street Books. We recommend the Breve or Double Iced Mocha.
Favorite place in the La Crosse area (about 30 minutes from La Crosse). If you take the Wisconsin side of the Great River Road on the way to La Crosse, you'll come right by Trempealeau.
Places to go:
Trempealeau Hotel
Hike Brady's Bluff/spend time in Perrot State Park
Elmaro Vineyard
Ed Sullivan's Supper Club
Sunset Gardens
Favorite bar in La Crosse. On the list of La Crosse's haunted places. Make sure you order a (spicy!) Bloody Mary here. Cash only.
Favorite spot to shop consignment. Good place to buy affordable soy candles too!
If you're into thrifting - the 2nd Street Antique Mall is great too. Good place to get lost in, just don't miss the wedding! :)
