Things to Do

Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes

As a couple we have only been here once, however it is one of our favorite places in Michigan. From swimming to scenic drives to dune climbs this fun adventure is about an hour and a half away from the Wedding site.

Traverse City

Traverse City is the couple's favorite town in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. Head over to Clinch Park to play in the splash pad (while having a view of Lake Michigan), check out some micro-breweries, and grab a bite to eat before taking a nice dip in the lake. This is about a 50 minute drive from the wedding site.

Mackinac Bridge

If you're from Michigan you know this landmark. If you're not and have extra time it is a must see! It is a very touristy part of Michigan (about 1 hour 20 minutes away from wedding site), however you absolutely cannot miss the fudge. There is a park on the water you can relax on in Mackinaw City or if you're feeling extra adventurous you can take a ferry over to the island for more exploring!

Mackinac Island

Step back in time when you take a ferry to Mackinac Island. The main modes of transportation on the island are biking, horse drawn carriages, and walking because the only car on the island is a firetruck. There is a lot you can do here-from visiting a historical fort to visiting a butterfly house to biking around the 8 mile perimeter of the island, this location is great for those of you looking to extend your stay in Northern Michigan.

Charlevoix

This is the "biggest" town next to wedding site (15 minutes). It is quaint and beautiful. Take a hike at Fisherman's State Park, walk around the marina, go find the famous Mushroom houses, and grab a bite to eat at a local joint. We love it here.
