Wow where to begin? Let's start with this... I(Melissa) thought I never was going to find love. I've dated a boy for a week and talked to a few, but nothing serious and I knew that I was a lover that wanted that 'fairy tale,' story. Our's isn't the most typical, but It's OUR story... Enjoy!   One night after going on a date with a boy I truly liked and it went nowhere I video chatted one of my best friends at the time and explained how the date was horrible, and I was just basically a crying mess. She had been reconnecting with a boy who she met a while ago, and they were best friends at the time also. She says to me, 'Melissa I was actually just on another video call with Eddie, wanna talk to him? Maybe he can cheer you up!' Exhausted from my night I thought heck what could be the worst that could happen? So we decided to three way video chat.. EVEN THOUGH I LOOKED DISGUSTING MIGHT I ADD, and it was awkward and Eddie sat there silently because he really didn't know what to say and we talked for a few then hung up. Later that night I received a messaged from him apologizing that it was awkward, and maybe we can try again tomorrow.. The next day comes, and it so happens to be the weekend before my birthday so we decided to try to talk again all three of us, but my friend had to go early because of dinner with her parents, meanwhile she was going to another one of my friends house for my surprise party. So we hung up again, but this time Eddie was sure to give me his number. Before I left for my surprise party I called him privately and asked him how I looked, and he said, you look so beautiful! I had butterflies, but knowing he was from Massachusetts it would never work, but that night I can promise you one thing the wish I made on my 17th birthday candles came true... The next few weeks went by and my best friend at the time, Eddie and I continuously video chatted. Before you knew it my friend started catching on that Eddie and I were being kinda flirty, but really didn't think anything of it. Then slowly Eddie and I would video chat alone, every single day and started learning about one another. Knowing that we lived so far apart and were both so young that a relationship would be extremely difficult, to my surprise on March 21st, 2012 Eddie officially asked me to be his girlfriend! I was so happy, even though I wasn't sure where it was going to go I knew our love was something special. We knew the first thing we had to do was meet in person, but we didn't know when or how, but Eddie made sure to put in the effort and surprised me at one of my school's biggest dance competitions! Honestly the rest is history. Our relationship is remarkable, we listen, understand, love, work together and always fight for one another. We've been together since 2012... 11 years, and still counting. Bought our first home November 18th, 2019, and welcomed our new home with two adorable fur babies Cooper and Daisy who are our world. We had a litter of 10 Goldens from Cooper & Daisy, and we kept one cute angel baby who we named Ann(After Eddie’s mother, that was her middle name) We also have Fritz, who was Eddies dad's cat.. May he rest in peace.  Eddie and I also got the surprise of our life when the morning of July 4th, 2022 we saw 2 little blue lines on a pregnancy test… ONLY 7 SHORT MONTHS AWAY FROM THE WEDDING WE’VE PLANNED 3 YEARS IN ADVANCE… but we can tell you all one thing, there was only one thing we wanted more then to be married and that was to bring a little Melissa and Eddie to this world! So we decided to cancel our wedding because I was due March, 8th 2023(EVERYTHING for us is in March, it’s the BEST month), and our original date was March 25th(I was OUT for the count in my diaper). Early in the morning on March 11th our sweet baby boy Edward Francis Slater IV was born! He has been gods blessing to us, and have given us our biggest titles yet… mom and dad! He is the sweetest, happiest, silliest, smartest and lovey little angel of a baby! He has brought our entire family so much happiness and cheer!  Eddie and I haven’t even thought on rebooking a wedding right away because we didn’t know what to do or how to start all over. Heck we’ve been engaged now for going on 3 1/2 years! Between tackling parenthood, and learning this new way of life we didn’t think of it much. We already feel like a family, but we never got our dream wedding we’ve always wanted. To finally become one after all these years. No matter the time, no matter the obstacles we FINALLY have come to a conclusion on where and when that dream will take place… what better date then July 4th, 2024 to celebrate our love, and finally let Melissa have Little Ed’s and Eddie’s last name! SLATER PARTY OF 3! We are so excited!  We just truly wanted to thank you all for being so patient with us, and for never stop loving us! From showering us with unconditional love when we found out about little Ed, and always cheering us on! This was a long time coming and I promise it’ll be a night to remember forever! We are SO excited!!!!   Our story is still unfolding, but what we have and have accomplished in our lives thus far is incredible.
