It's crazy to look back and think about life just one year ago. As I write this, one year ago, Luke and I didn't know the other existed. It will be one year ago in February that our lives changed forever.
Luke and I met in February of 2017. Our first date happened to be the same day I had flower girl Joanna by myself, all day. Through a combination of miscommunication, misunderstanding, and getting out of work late, I had to keep pushing back our start time. From 7:30 to 8:00 to 8:30. I had almost convinced myself to cancel. Luckily, I had a feeling that I shouldn't. Matron of Honor Becky picked up baby Jojo at 8:00 and Luke picked me up at 8:30. Our first date was at Wicked Hop in Milwaukee. Our next two dates were within the same week and we haven't stopped dating since.
Luke and I bonded over our love of dogs, specifically Hog and Shark, Milwaukee, and frozen custard. Although, we will never agree on where the best custard in Milwaukee is found. I always choose Leon's and Luke, Kopps. I'm nice so I give in most often.
Luke has accepted my big, close family with open arms. He attends the twice weekly family dinners; sometimes without me! He also asked both Father of the Bride Bill, and Mother of the Bride Cheryl for their blessing in asking for my hand in marriage.
The proposal was Thursday, December 14th 2017. My parents took us out to dinner and we took them to see A Christmas Carol. After the performance, Luke asked to steal me for a few minutes and we walked to Cathedral Square Park. I was shaking from the cold and the excitement. Luke got down on one knee and popped the question. I, of course said YES! Which leads us here.
