Their love story began in July 2018 at a Victoria Gardens’ Starbucks, where Mellissa and Ion's first date turned into an enchanting six-hour stroll around the mall, filled with deep conversations and shared laughter. Despite Mellissa's upcoming move for grad school, Ion's determination to nurture their connection prevailed. They soon became inseparable, embarking on thrilling adventures and moments that solidified their bond. Ion became a constant presence in Mellissa's life, visiting her parents' home every night on his way home from work. In December, Mellissa had to choose between graduate programs in Colorado and North Carolina. Ion's unwavering support led him to secure a job in Colorado, and they took a leap of faith by relocating together to a new state after just a year of dating.

Their first two years in Colorado were filled with adventures and challenges, from adopting kittens to weathering the trials of grad school during a pandemic. The next two years brought incredible growth as they worked together on their shared dream for a greener future in the alternative energy sector. Finally, in July 2022, Ion proposed to Mellissa at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, and she joyfully accepted. In the Summer of 2023 they returned to California to embark on the next chapter of their journey, ready to build a life together in the place where their love story began.
