Back in the summer of 2015 Robert met Mercedees when she was waitressing at a local restaurant, Armadillo Grill. Her coworker was his table’s waitress, but Mercedees was called over to their table by her coworker, to talk to Robert and his coworkers about getting a boat rental since he worked at the local marina. Mercedees was new to Blairsville and moving from Dearborn, Michigan to rural Appalachia Georgia, she didn’t know too much about what to do for fun in the area. All of her coworkers ended up going to the boat marina on a Monday, instead Mercedees decided to stay home that day. Flash forward about 6 months later, Robert started working at Armadillo Grill part time, his cousin was the kitchen manager and needed help in the kitchen. Robert and Mercedees remembered each other, when they showed up for their shift. Even though she had black hair now instead of blonde, Robert remembered her by her eyes and she remembered him too. One night during closing up the restaurant for the night, Robert asked Mercedees on a date, they immediately hit it off and have been together since February 2016.

Over the past 8 years, his house eventually became a home, a home that 3 fluffy giant dogs occupy, a kitchen where home cooked meals are made, coffee is brewed and wine is poured. A home where music is played loud while cleaning, because it makes doing chores more enjoyable. They have a plan to fix up their home, sell it and move into a house with more land and more bedrooms in the near future.
