The date was November 30, 2013, Matt and Meredith had been acquaintances prior to this epic evening but little did they know that a spilled glass of wine and some sweet dance moves would lead them to over two years of dating and an engagement! As you may have guessed, Meredith spilled the wine and Matt obviously had the dance moves. We added our first picture together at an adult prom party so you can get an idea of what the night looked like if you missed it. Meredith begged Matt to take a "prom picture" with her, good thing she did right?!
For nearly six months, Matt and Meredith remained close friends who communicated daily. Matt, knowing most things before Meredith, realized that there was something more than just friends. Stubborn Meredith took a little longer. Once spring rolled around, she finally came to her senses with the help from a Dave Matthews Band concert. Shortly after the concert, they finally went from being "just friends" to dating.
Matt and Meredith dated "long distance" for a few months before she made the brave decision to leave Boston, Massachusetts and move to Gorham, Maine. Little did she know her fall would be spent watching Patriots games (EVERY WEEKEND) and raking leaves, two things that she had never done before.Little did Matt know, Meredith came with lots of clothes, shoes, new ideas to decorate his house, and most importantly to her, Leroy the kitty cat.
During the two years of living in Maine together, Matt and Meredith created many lasting memories including; apple picking in the fall, attending many weddings (again with sweet dance moves of Matt), many family gatherings, enjoying a lot of delicious treats from the kitchen, summers on the boat, road trips around New England, many days and nights of laughter and fun, and last but not least, a lot of growing as a couple to be inseparable of one another.
This past summer, Matt was offered an opportunity to take a position in California with his company that was just too good to pass up. Matt and Meredith packed the car and road tripped from Maine to California where they are excited to start a new chapter of their lives together.
Though Matt and Meredith may be West Coasters now, their roots are in New England and they cannot wait to celebrate their big day together with all of their friends and family in Maine at the couples favorite ski resort, Sugarloaf.
It was July 1, 2016 and Meredith thought that she was going to meet her good friend Megan Scott; who doubles as the couples Realtor, for a lunch discussion regarding staging the house in order to prepare it to sell. Meredith was caught off guard as Megan asked what was behind her and it was Matt on one knee (for quite some time she found out after) waiting to pop the question to Meredith.
The setting was a restaurant in South Portland, Maine, overlooking Casco Bay. After she said "yes", out came two more of the couples friends, Jamie and Mark Coffey, who along with Megan, had the whole proposal on camera.
What an exciting way to start off the couples Fourth of July weekend!
Friends and family, if you are in love with social media (as most of us are), please use #RegoAllTheWay for any pictures that involve the wedding, shower, etc. We'd love to see our festivities throughout the lens of your camera! Thanks!
