We met for the first time in 2017 during our first summer on staff together at Lutherdale. Well, that truly isn't the first time we met. We actually met 14 years ago all the way back in 2011 when we both were campers at Lutherdale and happened to end up in the same "camp village". Don't believe us? After that week of camp we didn't see each other until we both returned in 2017. We quickly became friends during the first two weeks of staff training. That friendship turned into car rides home together on Fridays after the week ended and spending every break throughout our workdays together. Eventually, we went on our first date at the end of the summer to a Brewers game. And then a second date, a third, and before we both went back off to our respective colleges, we decided to take a shot at making it work long distance. We didn't think or know at the time that we would actually make it through 5 years of it while we both pursued educational goals and the start of our careers. But we did. After that 5 long years apart we were both finally were at points in our lives where we could start to see each other more regularly so we promptly signed a lease and moved in together. We now live in Milwaukee with our two cats, Mick and Mona, where we spend a lot of our time surprisingly still in school on top of fulltime careers but now at least it is with each other around to support the other.

In September of 2023, we decided that after 6 years together and 5 years tested through long distance, neither of us were going anywhere. A ring was purchased, we went on a trip to Montana, and we got engaged in front of a chilly sunrise at Lake McDonald in Apgar Village. We can't wait to spend our lives together and are elated to be able to share the start it with our family & friends.
