It all started that one morning in class, when Michael, feeling a little bit of excitement and nerves after a fun night out, decided to sit next to Meredith. She was the pretty girl he’d noticed before but never had the courage to speak to. But that day, he did. Asking for her Snapchat seemed harmless enough—something about studying nursing material made it feel like a perfectly good excuse. To his surprise, Meredith gave it to him, smiling at his sweetness, but little did they both know, it would take a whole year for them to become close friends.
Fast forward to sophomore year, when they finally started studying together for all their nursing classes. Their love story was built on more than just nursing exams and late-night study sessions—it was crafted through date parties, shared moments in clinical shifts, and their growing obsession with discovering new food spots. They graduated in 2022 together by each others side and decided to start their nursing careers in Kansas City.

Then came December 28, 2023. What seemed like another ordinary evening of seeing Christmas lights with Michael’s family turned into a night Meredith would never forget. Michael had orchestrated a beautiful surprise, involving both their families, a stunning setup with lights, roses, and a photographer to capture the moment. With all the people who mattered to them surrounding them, Michael got down on one knee and asked Meredith to be his forever. It was a perfect moment, the start of a new chapter in their lives as fiancés.

But the year that followed wasn’t just about wedding planning. It was about life, love, and unwavering support. Meredith had to undergo open heart surgery, and through it all, Michael never left her side. Together, they moved home to St. Louis and bought a house in St. Peters. They each got a new job, Michael in the ER and Meredith in the NICU and are now settling into their new life.
