Everyone knows it is MK's favorite story to tell... and she tells it all the time, but for those who don't know here it is!

Tanner and MK were both nearing the end of their freshman year at the University of Tennessee in the spring of 2019. Tanner was an AGR and MK was a ZTA. The AGR's were having a philanthropy event called Water Wars and MK was called up (morning of) to be a part of the ZTA team!

After a very fun day of being with their friends, MK and Tanner both went home, not meeting each other yet.

Tanner needed a date to the spring formal in Savannah, GA. So he calls on his trusty pledge class and asks if anyone knows of a girl who is fun and doesn't want anything serious. MK's name came up from a few of them, one of them being a boy who was friends with one of MK's best friends. They ended up getting it set up and each respectively facetimed MK and Tanner. They turned the phones to each other and said, "You guys are going to formal together!"

Keep in mind, this was only a week before they would leave for said formal. A cooler was made and filled and dropped off at the house.

On April 4, 2019, on a Friday morning, MK was picked up in the breezeway of the Carrick dorms. MK and Tanner finally met each other and sat together in the back seat of the car. MK rode for the entire drive to Savannah, GA without saying a word, which is saying something.

Once they arrived in Savannah, they were hanging out with her friends and having a good time and might have been starting to like each other. The night turned into the following day where they had a fabulous beach day and dinner. Before dinner, they took their first photo with just the two of them. They ended the night at a karaoke bar with friends where both of them danced and sang, of course. This night, MK bravely decided to tell Tanner's great-grandbig that she was going to marry Tanner one day...

Tanner and MK came back from Savannah and were inseparable doing everything together. They went to date parties, dining hall dates, and more. The day came when MK was moving out of her dorm. On May 5, 2019, Tanner asked MK to be his girlfriend and on June 14, 2024, Tanner asked MK to marry him! The rest is history.
