Meredith B Lightfoot - Bride
Meredith is one of those people who somehow have both far too much and not nearly enough time on their hands. She wishes, somewhat unrealistically, to one day be a wizened Swamp Hag, riding on mooseback through the wilds of Maine to collect herbs and save the bees. Somewhat more realistically, she will settle for starting rumors of this local legend in the making, and later becoming immortalized as a cryptid.
Robert J Rackham - Groom
Robert (who is not a hit-man) is a man with a strong personal code of morals and ethics, a serious tone of voice, and the heart of a goofball. An absolute nerd, he'll talk about books, history, games, movies, and politics with the same level of enthusiasm as a six-month-old puppy that's just been given a brand new toy. He hopes one day to start his own country in the wilds of Maine, with his Queen (Swamp Hag) ruling at his side.
Lana Lightfoot - Mother of the Bride
After growing up on an apple farm in western New York, Lana has stuck by her man for more than 50 years now. She spent the last many years working at her local public library, and retired happily in the fall of 2023. Now that both she and her husband have retired, she hopes to finally have a chance to live in a completely finished home. (Personally, knowing Bruce's propensity for starting new projects, I wouldn't bet on it happening.) Hobbies include puzzles, reading, knitting, and a strong interest in tiny homes.
Bruce Lightfoot - Father of the Bride
From a small town in the suburbs of Boston, Bruce has spent the last 50+ years doting on his wife, Lana, in any way he possibly can. He has recently retired (mostly) from his work running a one-man business in fixing "anything with a wire on it," and is now finally finding time to do all the projects he's wanted to do for years. His hobbies include building additions onto their apartment, music of a surprisingly wide variety, and a love of all things sci-fi.
Debbie Rackham - Mother of the Groom
Having grown up in the farmlands and orchards of California. Debbie is a woman with a contagious smile and a passion for exploration and new experiences. She's done everything from wine-tastings to sky-diving (for the record, she much preferred the wine)! Having found a love of helping others in need, she now works for a Non-Profit dedicated to trauma counselling and recovery. She loves learning new ideas and seeing new perspectives on just about anything. Debbie is the type of person who is so incredibly outgoing that she can walk into any location, even an active warzone, and come out of there with a great story, bright outlook, and thirteen new friends. Debbie will probably make friends with each and every one of you, and by the time you leave you will have added her to your friends list on Facebook.
Robert Rackham - Father of the Groom
The second generation of first-born sons named Robert, and the second of them to be a Marine Officer, Bob has a deep enjoyment of hard work and self reliance. Bob grew up in a military family and spent a large amount of his life outdoors involved with scouting. After retiring from the Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel, he began a fun filled career of Government Contracting. His interests range from Robert Jordan, Luis Lamour, & Brandon Sanderson books, to BYU Football, to Professional Wrestling, and he enjoys spending time with his dog Zoey, as all seven children are now out of the house.
Mary-Kate Browne - Maid of Honor
Mary-Kate and Meredith became inseparable partners-in-crime back in college. Together they ran Pendragon (the Creative Writing Club & Literary Magazine with the longest name in existence), she gave name to the infamous Pig-Foot Incident (iykyk), and they spent countless late nights laughing, scheming, and generally being just a little bit unhinged. Meredith was always amazed at how Mary-Kate somehow managed to be everywhere, doing absolutely everything, all at once. Since graduation she’s hopped across London, NYC, and now DC, collecting degrees and adventures along the way like it's no big deal. No matter how long it’s been since they’ve talked, they always pick right back up as if no time has passed at all. She’s Meredith’s sister in every way but blood—brilliant, fun, unstoppable, and always ready to make things happen.
Lucas Hafford - Best Man
Lucas — better known as “Haffy” to just about everyone — is a wild delight of a man. He had the questionable honor of being Robert’s Training Officer when Robert first started his career, and somehow they both survived. Since then, Lucas has been a steady source of wisdom, humor, and encouragement, always finding a way to lighten the mood and see the best in any situation. Outside of work, he splits his time between Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, making TikToks that are equal parts silly and legendary, and appreciating a good whiskey or bourbon when the moment calls for it. These days, Meredith and Robert also enjoy the rare chance to meet up with Lucas and his wife Erica for dinner, which is always filled with laughter and good stories.
Jason Roden - Bridesdude
Jason and Meredith met while working at GameStop, where nothing bonds two people faster than surviving a Black Friday shift in a packed New York mall. Somewhere between the trauma and the video games, Jason ended up unofficially adopted by the Lightfoot family, and he’s been part of the crew ever since. He’s a gamer through and through, equally happy behind a high-end PC build or out on the water with a boat, and he’s got a soft spot for fast rides and Deadpool’s particular brand of chaos. Jason is also one of those people who somehow manages to quietly take care of everyone around him, even if he’ll never admit it out loud. He’d probably just roll his eyes and say “whatever” — but don’t let him fool you, he’s stuck with Meredith and the rest of the family for life.
Lauren Quinn - Bridesmaid
Lauren went from being Meredith’s favorite bartender to one of her favorite people almost overnight. She was there right at the start of Meredith’s CDL journey — the night Meredith passed her Class A permit test, she went out to celebrate with Jason, and Lauren just happened to be the one waiting on their table. When Lauren later picked up a bartending gig literally around the corner from Meredith’s job, after-work visits for drinks, snacks, and laughs quickly became the norm. A secret nerd at heart, she’s played through every Mass Effect game and plenty of other adventures besides. These days she’s left bartending behind for good, and Meredith’s just glad their paths crossed when they did — because otherwise, who knows if they ever would have met? Now Lauren lives in a beautiful house in New York with her boyfriend Dylan, their cat, and her beloved Jeep.
Savannah McCully - Bridesmaid
Savannah was one of Meredith’s very first real friends in Maine, and they clicked right away — new to the area, figuring it out together, and bonding fast. She, her husband Brian, and their kids moved to Presque Isle just two months after Meredith did (all the way from Indiana), and the timing couldn’t have been better. Since then there have been dinners as couples, silly late-night card games, and plenty of laughs, and Meredith and Robert both love and respect Savannah’s family as dear friends. These days both Savannah and Brian work with Robert at the Presque Isle PD, and when Savannah isn’t busy with family or work, she can usually be found with a book in hand, tending her garden, or cheering from the sidelines at her sons’ soccer games.
Gavin Vining - Groomsman
Gavin and Robert worked together for about a year, and somewhere along the way they figured out that if there was any mischief or shenanigans to be found, the two of them would almost certainly stumble right into it. Gavin has a gift for being ridiculous in the best way possible, and he’s the kind of friend who keeps everyone laughing and on their toes. Recently he completed training with the fabulous beast known as Boris — the first-ever K9 to be triple-certified at Presque Isle PD — and the two of them make quite a team both on and off duty. When he’s not at work, Gavin can usually be found on the ice playing hockey for one of the local teams… sometimes even against his own coworkers, which always guarantees good stories later.
Jillian Heffren - Groomsmaid
Jill and Robert have been friends since 2011, when fate (and a plate of blueberry muffins) brought them together at a witchcraft shop in Occoquan, Virginia. It was an unlikely start, but the kind of moment that turned into an instant and lasting friendship. Jill also had a hand in shaping Robert’s circle — she introduced him to Helene Gonzalez, who in turn introduced him to Nathaniel Harvey — connections that led to some of the most important friendships in his life. Beyond her uncanny knack for being in the right place at the right time, Jill is a cat enthusiast of legendary proportions (some might say too much, but Jill would definitely disagree), and her passions for music, tattoos, and dance make her every bit as unforgettable as the day they met.
Brian McCully - Groomsman
Brian and Robert first connected through the Presque Isle PD, and it didn’t take long before their friendship grew well beyond the job. They quickly realized they shared more than just long shifts — both enjoy digging into conversations about The Division, Norse culture, and the kind of self-reliance that comes with dreaming up homesteading projects. Whether it’s talking through ideas for the future or trading stories about the past, they’ve always found common ground. Board game nights with Savannah and Meredith have only added more laughter to the mix, making their friendship just as strong outside of work as it is on duty. Brian has also proven himself one of the most appreciative fans of Rob’s homemade mead — never missing the chance to raise a glass when it’s around, and turning it into a small but meaningful tradition between them. And of course, nothing says friendship quite like wrangling someone else’s brand-new dairy cow together before a shift. Because let’s be honest: friends don’t let friends chase cattle alone.
Nicole Dyer - Flowergirl
Nicole is a lover of all things ’80s, ’90s, and today, and once she’s on a roll — especially when singing hip-hop — there’s no stopping her. Equal parts spooky-season enthusiast and true-crime fan, she always has a new book in hand and a story ready to share. When she’s not keeping things running smoothly at the PD as a dispatcher, Nicole enjoys life at home with her fiancé, Tim, and (most importantly) her beloved dogs, who fully rule the household. She’s full of energy, quick to laugh, and guaranteed to keep the celebration lively from start to finish.
Rotem Rusak - Flowergirl
Rotem and Meredith have been causing trouble together since first meeting in dance class back in the early 2000s. Over the years there have been countless sleepovers, dozens of celebrations, and a truly impressive amount of generally disorganized chaos. Even after Rotem moved to NYC after college, their bond has stayed as strong as ever — a sisterhood that doesn’t bend with distance. These days Rotem is the Editor in Chief at The Nerdist, which means she gets to do more cool things than could ever fit in this blurb… but don’t be fooled: no matter how fancy the job title, she’s still always down for a little chaos with Meredith. And on those rare chances they see each other, Stewart’s ice cream still finds its way into the mix — a tradition nearly 25 years strong, and far too good to outgrow.
Nate Harvey & Helene Gonzalez - Officiant and Rune Bearer
Robert has known Nate and Helene for nearly thirteen years, and together they’ve collected no shortage of adventures. From the legendary Barbarian Games (where Nate still holds the title of reigning Champion) to far nerdier pursuits like long-running game nights, D&D campaigns, and an absurdly strong shared love of Skyrim, there’s never a shortage of stories when these three are together. Their friendship has seen the kind of late-night laughter, questionable dice rolls, and inside jokes that only come from more than a decade of shared mischief. Nate and Helene have been constants in Robert’s life, bringing both humor and support through the years, and it feels only fitting that they’re stepping into such important roles on the wedding day. With Nate as officiant and Helene as rune bearer, they aren’t just part of the celebration — they’re part of the story itself, making the day that much more meaningful.
