We met in high school at our humble church camp, Camp Crucis. We lived our own adventures as college students and young adults, but eventually reconnected on the foundation of sweet friendship in Fort Worth. I (Johann) was a vagabond, but Meredith served me in community and intentionality and began to create a home for me in Cowtown. This happened while I was back for a short stint due to an eye surgery. When I told her that I’d be around for a month, her actual response was, “Yay!! We shall play games and dance and commune in the spirit and encourage one another while Fort Worth has you!” - green light. We had the best time doing all of those things and as my month in Texas came to a close, I had to make a move.

So I asked her on a real date. The date didn’t happen until I came back on a weekend from Durango for surgery post-op appointments, but we picked things up right where we left off. We did ‘distance’ for the entirety of our dating relationship and engagement.

Meredith became an avid outdoorswoman while visiting me in Durango: rafting, biking, hiking, rock climbing, trail running, camping, and skiing. Meredith balances grit and hard work in harmony with her elegant femininity. I fell so hard for her as I watched her take on very physically demanding feats without ever complaining. She just giggles her way through it then gives praise to the Lord for the sweet opportunity to experience His creation. This is going to be my wife!! Who could ask for a better teammate! It’s been the most incredible dating experience, but we are so so so excited to be in the same place together - permanently. We delight in adventures together, but we also love to slow down and cook or dance or do nothing together. She’s truly my best friend and I’m so stoked to celebrate our holy matrimony with you all soon!

We love the Lord so deeply and all of the people that have served us in this time. We hope you all feel as loved and served by us as we have with you. See you on our wedding day - where we shall dance, and commune and encourage one another :)
