Sal and Meredith met in the most romantic way; on Tinder. Merry had her dating radius set for 1 mile away from her apartment in Portsmouth, NH, and Sal’s job at the Naval Shipyard just made it into that range. Their first date was fun, starting off with oysters and fries at The Franklin Portsmouth, and ending with Merry falling asleep on her couch, a preview into the rest of their lives. They knew they liked each other, but it wasn’t until their 3rd date that they both realized how much.Their 3rd date was supposed to be tacos and axe throwing, but Sal’s after work nap lasted until 10 o’clock that night. Merry woke up the next day to texts and calls from Sal apologizing for missing the date, and inviting her to go to breakfast that morning.Merry met Sal for breakfast (how could she say no!) where Sal asked a lot of questions about the Fryeburg Fair she was attending that weekend. He asked so many questions, Merry felt compelled to invite him to come away with her and her family for 3 days! Over that weekend, Merry saw Sal laugh with her brother, bond with her dad, and be interviewed by her mom. By the end of that weekend, she knew that he was someone who was worth keeping around. They’ve been giggling together every day since.The day after Christmas in 2024, Merry and Sal were in Harry Potter world in Universal with Merry’s family. At the entrance of Hogsmead, Sal asked Merry to take a photo. While they were taking the photo, Sal looked at Merry and said, “hey, do you wanna marry me?” She responded by looking at the ring and telling him to KNEEL AND PUT IT ON ME! Merry made the easiest decision of her life by agreeing to marry Sal, and they are so excited to start their lives together. They cant wait to celebrate their marriage with all the people they love!
