Meredith and Sam met like many of us young adults do these days...on the dating app "Hinge"! On their first date, Meredith and Sam shared a pizza at Cafe Brasil and spoke candidly about each of their struggles with mental health. They continued their evening at Agora Cafe, where they both shared in a depth filled conversation over cappuccinos. Sam walked Meredith home that night, and gave her a little peck to end their first encounter. Their love and admiration for each other blossomed over the next several months as they entered the 'honeymoon' phase of their relationship... Thankfully, almost three years later... Meredith and Sam still find themselves in that same 'honeymoon' phase! But now they are moving towards the adventure of a lifetime - marriage!! Time has certainly passed, yet their understanding and sincerity towards each other has only grown. Won't you please come celebrate with us on May 24th, 2025? Come on down to Galveston, Texas and raise a glass to the future Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sotsuda!!

Lynn and Meredith have been best friends since August of 2016 where they met at Samford University during sorority recruitment! Ever since then they've been stuck like glue :)

Emily and Meredith take it way back to Freshman year of high school! They met and it was friendship at first sight :) Their friendship has stood the test of time through the many seasons of life.

Shannon and Meredith's friendship began through a mutual friend and a fellow bridesmaid, Emily! They have been friends for over 10 years and have experienced many chapters of life together :)

Harper and Meredith’s friendship goes back to high school youth group! Though Harper and Meredith are a few years apart, that didn’t stop them from forming a long lasting friendship :)

Sarah and Meredith met several years ago in a group therapy session! Both Sarah and Meredith are passionate about advocating for mental health, and have found that common ground throughout the course of their friendship :)

Sarah and Meredith became friends and future sisters through Sam! Sarah and Meredith have gotten to know each other over family holidays and quality time together :) 

Ms. Sarah Sotsuda 

John and Sam met in college as roommates. They met through mutual friends and were basically inseparable from that point forward. They played in multiple bands together and have a deep passion of music. They have shared countless memories of getting in and out of trouble together, supporting each other through hard life moments and sharing a lot of laughs over cold beers. John is a father to his amazing son Johnny.

Sam and Zach share a long and hilarious history. Sam and Zach began as enemies as they both dated the same girl in high school but attended rival schools. They had a shared many mutual friends but really did not get to know each other until college. After rooming together and spending long nights going on adventures and getting into shenanigans, Zach and Sam continued their friendship into adulthood for over 15 years and counting. Zach is an incredible husband to his saint like wife, Windy and proud father to their son, Oliver.

Sam and Devontae met in the trenches teaching at Aldine. Devontae and Sam taught English 1 together for 3 years and shared some incredibly challenging and hilarious times together. Devontae is a loving husband to his wife Kadejah and an amazing father to their daughter Mercy.

Sam and Jenna have actually never met in person! Jenna and Sam met playing an online video game called Overwatch. They have played Overwatch, FIFA and Fortnite together almost every day for the last 3 years. Jenna, like Sam, is a DIE- HARD Arsenal fan and is a former professional center back.

Sam and Street also met playing Overwatch along with Jenna. Street helps provide Sam with insights about life, gaming, and a host of other things often! Although, they’ve never met face to face, they share a lot of common interests such as music and anime.
