To our loving families and friends, the RSVP date has been extended to December 31st.
We were two studying engineers at Rutgers University. First acquainted through a club called COF, Coptic Orthodox Fellowship. We had occasional group chit chat at our campus study lounge here and there.
After college we pursued our own path and the group lost touch with one another. Years later, we coincidentally saw each other at an Orthodox Christmas concert. We reconnected in the group setting exchanging smiles. The room was filled with music from all over the world celebrating the birth of Christ, and the hope that came with it. It's funny how a hundred days can go by and we remember very little, but a matter of seconds can suddenly be one of the most memorable of your life!
For me, it was when a little girl approached Meriam during the concert, when she saw Meriam she immediately hugged her. Meriam gave her a big hug too. The warmth and maternal love took me back to my first impressions, a truly sweet woman to everyone.
For Meriam, it was when she dropped her cell phone during the concert, and I instinctively picked it up. When I handed her the phone, she remembered back to her first impressions of me as a caring man.
The result was we both wanted to be a part of one another's life.
In 2019, digitally maintaining connections was an art form - so we launched our dialog online with Merry Christmas wishes to one another. This time, our conversation continued. One hot cocoa invitation later led to a new beginning :)
Please join us for the journey on January 16th, 2022!
