Merriam and William's love story began at First Baptist Church in Starkville during youth group. William was immediately interested in Merriam, but William says she played 'hard to get.' Within a few short months, they were inseparable. The two started dating October 12, 2016, when they were juniors in high school. Merriam was there when William won a football state championship, and William went to Starkville High football games when he wasn't playing to support Merriam cheerleading. The two navigated their relationship although they attended different schools, going to each prom together their junior and senior years. Merriam and William's story continued when both attended and graduated from Mississippi State. The two have shared all of life's milestones together and look forward to many more.

During those college years, multiple career opportunities lead William to intern in Charleston, South Carolina, and Frisco, Texas. Between many long drives and quick flights, the couple never waivered. Through many Steak Nights and crawfish date parties, the two remained constant.

William majored in engineering, and Merriam was lead to pursue education to later become a teacher and cheer coach at Germantown Middle School. William works for Garver, currently working on a project in Greenville, Mississippi. Yet again the couple is making it work, enjoying every moment together they possibly can.

Between Starkville High, Starkville Academy, and Mississippi State to starting their adult lives, they really have grown up together. Merriam and William moved to Madison, Mississippi, to start their careers. The two recently bought a home in Canton and welcomed home their golden doodle puppy, Luna Wolfe. Merriam and William look forward to settling in their home with Luna and begin married life. The two are thrilled to begin their lives together as husband and wife in June of 2024.
