Nate and I met working on the surgical floor at Lutheran Medical Center in 2017. We got to know each other at work and I was able to see firsthand how caring and compassionate he is.

We were just acquaintances at first but became friends over the years and shared the same friend group. We found ourselves hiking, dancing, roller skating, and hanging out at the lake with our mutual friends. In fact, the first time my girls met Nate, he ate a crawfish right out of the lake and earned the nickname, the crab eater.

Although I came with a lot of life experience and Nate had many potential suitors, it felt like there was a magnet that kept pulling us together. We continued to spend more and more time together and then on May 19, 2022, he asked me to be his girlfriend on top of Mount Sanitas in Boulder.

Since that day, we have surfed in Sayulita, escaped death while camping at twelve thousand feet during a lightning storm, swam with manatees in Florida, dived in Costa Rica, raised three chickens, rafted the Colorado River, skied, and bungee jumped in Idaho. We have always agreed that we were looking for both love and adventure and I'm grateful to say that we are so blessed to have found that in each other.

Nate has been a wonderful role model to my two girls, Charlee and Emmy. I hope as time goes on, their bond will continue to grow and strengthen, especially as we hope to one day have kids of our own!
