Q + A
Flying into Lima, Peru
You will need an up-to-date passport that does NOT expire within 6 months of travel! Flights from the U.S. to Lima, Peru (Jorge Chavez International Airport) are anywhere from $550 - $1200 depending on your selected travel dates and departure location. We recommend traveling on a weekday and/or from a major airport to reduce travel costs.
Make sure to schedule transportation ahead of time to and from the airport, we do not recommend using taxis at the airport. We recommend Uber, Cabify, or private transportation.
Will you have a room block at a hotel?
Yes! Click Travel in the top panel to find Hyatt Centric San Isidro with the room rate link and details. We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure availability.
What is the weather like in the area?
July in Lima brings cooler weather, a great escape from the US summer heat. Skies will be warm in the day bringing cool to the evenings. Attention for my textured and curly hair folks, it is very humid! Early summer/pre-fall clothing with a light cardigan or jacket will do you well!
What is the dress code for your wedding?
The dress code is colorful black tie optional. Please do not wear white/beige/creams, jeans (any denim) or casual wear to our wedding. We would love for you to come dressed in your best!
Am I allowed to bring my children?
While we love your little ones, we kindly request that the wedding day celebration be reserved for adults aged 15 and above. We hope you understand our desire to create an environment where everyone can relax and enjoy themselves fully. We truly appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you!
What language is spoken in Peru and what customs should I be aware of?
As we prepare to celebrate our special day with you in the beautiful country of Peru, we want to ensure that you have an enriching and enjoyable experience.
Language:
The primary language spoken in Peru is Spanish, but don't worry if you're not fluent; many Peruvians in tourist areas and cities speak English. But do NOT expect it.
Customs to Be Aware Of:
Greetings: Peruvians value polite greetings. It's common to start with 'Hola' (Hello). Handshakes and hugs are common forms of greeting, while kisses on the cheek are more typical in informal situations.
Punctuality: While punctuality is appreciated in formal settings, being a little flexible with timing can be helpful.
Food and Dining Etiquette: Peruvian cuisine is one of the best in the world (award-winning literally), and sharing meals is a cherished social activity. Dining is not a rushed experience, you can take your time and be merry.
Avoid overly flashy clothing and accessories.
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Outdoors; please note the venue has a variety of terrain, however, a large majority of your time will be on grass. Ladies, please make a note of this for your heel selection!
Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel on wedding day?
Yes! More details to come!
Where will wedding updates be posted?
Right here on the website! Be sure to check it out for all information regarding our wedding.
