They grew closer in 2017 when Kevin asked Mia to prom during his junior year and Mia’s sophomore year of high school; however, they went just as friends. After spending the night of prom together, Kevin knew that he wanted more than a friendship with Mia. They began to spend more time together including a week-long mission trip to Colorado with Valley Youth Network. On the last day of this trip, Mia became very ill and remained sick for a few days after they flew back to Ligonier. Kevin, still pursuing a relationship with Mia, visited her while she was sick. He brought her some homemade chicken noodle soup, a gift that Mia has cherished forever.
Finally, on January 14th, 2018, they began to date. Over the course of the next eight months, their love for each other grew which prepared them for the challenges of a long-distance relationship.
Mia and Kevin stayed committed to each other throughout the years of long-distance, spending as much time as they could together over holiday breaks and summers. They went on their first vacation together, a trip to Cape May, NJ with the Lynn’s in 2020. In 2021, they traveled to Ocean Isle Beach, NC with the Huber family. Both trips were memorable for the couple.
It was here in Pittsburgh where Kevin proposed on what felt like the coldest day of the year. Kevin had set up a plan for Mia’s roommate, Ella, to bring her to Schenley Park where Kevin was anxiously waiting to surprise her with a ring.
Thank you for your love and support throughout the many years! We can’t wait to celebrate our love and future together with you in June of 2025!
