It all started in 2019 - I had recently moved back home to start my new career as a high school teacher. Matt was the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at the college in town. The high school Counselor (shoutout Stacy! We love you!) brought Matt to my attention. After MONTHS we finally met in person - we were both playing hard to get. Fast forward to 2021 - we packed our bags and my pup and began our journey in Iowa. We survived the cold together - Unlike Charles, he was thriving - apparently the cold made Matt's heart grow fonder of me, because a few months later her decided to propose while we were on vacation in Jamaica - so romantic, I KNOW! A few months after getting engaged our hearts decided it was time to hit the road again, but this time to Florida. In our years together we have experienced many obstacles, so much love, and a ton of laughs. I met my person all because of one High School Counselor that thought we might like each other a little bit.

First off, I would like to thank Stacy as well! And we can never forget about Uncle Carl! 2019 was a crazy year, my third year in Levelland and right before Covid began. Mia and I finally met right before the season, with both of our schedules that meant we didn't see each other much. A few months later when the world was locked down, I had a chance to meet the rest of the family. They treated me like family right from the start! When I officially took the job offer in Iowa, I think we were both unsure of what would happen and especially El Chivo (Mia's Dad). After some long conversations we realized this is what we wanted and we needed to go for it. I was not prepared for what that would mean at all and Iowa was filled with ups and downs! In the long run this made us much closer and showed how well we can work together. Thanks to Mia's support and the support of our families, we have moved across the country, changed careers and now we are now in Florida building together for the future.
