If you're driving from Houston this is the best place to stop for BBQ! Mia's family loves to stop here on their way to the hill country!
The tube chute is a man made rapid slide built in the Comal river. It's a ton of fun to tube down the rapids! There is a $7 entry fee to have access to the tube chute. You may need to rent tubes as well if you do not bring your own.
This is a fun adventure for the family, where you get to tour the caverns, explore the caves, and learn about it's history! The tours are around $34 depending on the day you decide to go. There are also lots of fun things for kids to do above ground, like fossil mining, a maze, twisted trails (rope course or obstacle course) for kids 4 feet and under, and another twisted trail for older kids. This could end up being an all-day adventure, so make sure to plan a whole day or a big part of your day to the caverns.
Great place to catch live music and to dance! Behind the Gruene Hall is the Gruene River Grill which has great food! If you're looking for a place to shop they have all kinds of shops to get great souvenirs.

Schlitterbahn is a huge water park that is so big it has two different parks that you can bus between. One of the parks uses the water from the Comal river. It has more rides than you can imagine and has all kinds of tube rides! It is Mia's favorite water park to go to! Ticket prices are $49.99 online for adults and $44.99 online for kids. If you plan on going, we recommend buying tickets online the day before for a cheaper cost. You can bring in outside food and drinks, which is great to stay hydrated and save money.
Great pastries and coffee!
This was Mis's Grandpa Butch's favorite German food!
Go tubing around the horse shoe for a few hours and enjoy the river and some rapids! Tubing can be a beautiful and relaxing activity just as much as it is fun! Be sure to rent a tube and bring lots of water!
