On a sun-soaked afternoon in Lisbon, Portugal, Alec planned a moment that would change our lives forever. What Miah thought was just a beautiful sailboat ride turned out to be the surprise of a lifetime.With the gentle waves beneath us and "Joy of My Life" by Chris Stapleton playing in the background, Alec got down on one knee. A saxophonist began to play, a photographer captured every moment, and a bouquet of flowers and chilled champagne awaited us. It was truly picture-perfect.What made it even more special? Alec had told Miah months before that he would never propose in Portugal without his family and friends there—just to keep her off the trail. It worked like a charm. She was completely surprised, and the joy and emotion in that moment will stay with us forever.It was the beginning of our forever, in the most magical place, on the most perfect day.
