Of course, we have two versions to this story, but mine is more accurate ;)

Ryan had recruited my brother Cisco to do ranch work with him for several years. Well, Cisco's entire junior and senior year of high school, every time Ryan would pick up Cisco, I came to find out that Ryan would talk about me. This usually resulted in Cisco getting embarrassed and begging for Ryan to stop talking about me. I think Cisco's reaction gave Ryan a reason to not stop haha. Of course, Cisco would report to me almost everyday in the summer about what Ryan Rosas was saying about me. Everyone loves the attention (including me) but I also thought it was a lot of hot air.

Fast forward to May 2021. We were celebrating Cisco's graduation party and Mr. Rosas made an appearance. This was my opportunity to see if he was as brave and bold as he was with Cisco.

HAHA NOPE! As I approached Ryan outside of the fair hall, you could see instant panic in his eyes. Y'all, all I asked is if he wanted anything to drink. He of course told me no, so I got him a lemonade anyways. I clearly don't take no for an answer and I knew he was thirsty, Cisco was playing wingman and told me ;)

A little after, Ryan walked near my table and a country song came on. I walked up to him and said "let's go dancing". He responded with " I don't really dance anymore." I grabbed his hand and told him "well tonight you do." We talked about a dead rabbit, work, and how we both didn't know we were both living in Sanderson at the time. We talked the rest of the night, danced a little more, and ultimately exchanged numbers at the end of the night. " Never to fear, Ryan is here. Just send me a text" He knew I didn't have his number lol.

That Sunday, Ryan made it very clear that he wanted to know what we were doing haha. He claimed that "he had enough friends." I was like wow, he knows what he wants.

We continued to talk and see each other on his days off. In June, he talked about me to his grandparents and told them I was his girlfriend, but he never formally asked me out. He told me what they said, and I was like " I am your girlfriend?" and he said "yes, are you not?" Of course, in my girl mind, he hadn't asked. On June 18th, in the middle of the night, parked at Blue Star listening to country music and looking at the stars, Ryan will tell you that I forced him to ask me out. lol

On December 16th (on his birthday btw), Ryan got down on one knee in front of our friends and family and asked me to be his forever! I knew it was coming, poor guy was a nervous wreck the weeks coming up to my graduation. We celebrated my graduation from my master's, his birthday, and an engagement!!! It was a great weekend <3

These past three years have been great. It is safe to say, we've been through a lot, from navigating a new relationship, sickness in our families, our mothers, and just life. I would not pick anyone else to be by my side and go through this journey called life. Through the tears, smiles, and everything else... It has always been you.
