Luke and I met for the first time on Halloween of 2013. We were both on a college visit to Troy University in Alabama for track and field. The two of us hit it off from the beginning. And, throughout the weekend we found out that both of us were being recruited by Keith McBride at Purdue University. And, by the end of the weekend, I think we both convinced one another that Purdue was home.

Luke and I were friends from the beginning at Purdue - it helped that we were a familiar face to one another, even if we hadn't talked much since the weekend we met. Eventually, the two of us started dating on March 8, 2015, just the start of outdoor season. And the rest is history!

Fast forward to Halloween of 2018, Luke proposed! He had it all planned out that regardless of where he was (Luke started grad school at Ohio State in August of 2018), he was going to come to me at Purdue and propose on the 5th anniversary of the day we met! And he did... dressed as batman.

When Luke got to my apartment the day he proposed, he was greeted by me scolding him for skipping out on his responsibilities and how he can't just leave in the middle of the week to come see me. Luke then asked what day it was and I told him, "Halloween." He repeated the question and I responded, "A holiday." At that moment I knew what was going on because I always told him that holidays were off limits when it came to proposing. He then had to remind me (Oops!) that it was the 5 year anniversary of the day we met. And with that he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him!

We can't wait to celebrate our love with all our family and friends on Halloween of 2020! We can't wait to live in the same city again and start our lives together!
