Sam and Micaela met in Communications 314 class in the Spring of 2016 at Creighton University. With many mutual friends, it was an amazing coincidence they had never met before. After casually walking Micaela to her car (and admittedly) following her to the gym a few times, Sam finally got the nerve up to ask her out. That weekend, Sam picked up Micaela for a night of pizza and bowling. The rest is history!

Micaela, her mother Roberta, and favorite family friend, Patty, were on their way to visit Micaela's sister, Maya, who was studying abroad in Sevilla, Spain for Thanksgiving 2017. Micaela was under the impression that Sam would be home in Utah, as Sam had explained the details of what he would be doing.

After a long flight and getting to the hotel in Seville, the girls got ready for their first Spanish dinner. They left the hotel, and strolled through the Parque de Maria Luisa, which Micaela thought was just a shortcut to dinner. All of the sudden, Sam popped out from behind a wall, and surprised Micaela from not only being in Spain, but getting down on one knee and popping the question.

Sam, Maya, Roberta, and Patty had planned a beautiful evening which included champagne and photos on the beautiful Plaza de Espana. The rest of the week was full of celebrations and tapas!
