42 Days To Go!

The Very Beginning

Micah and Alexandra met in the fall of 2021 during their freshman year at Pensacola Christian College. Within the first few conversations, they realized they had a lot in common. The most surprising similarity was that they were both the oldest of seven children in their family! A few others included their families driving a ford transit and places they’d traveled, but the most important similarity was their love for God. There was one big problem that they both realized quickly however. Micah was a Michigan Wolverines fan and Alexandra was from Ohio. Luckily, they were able to move past that, even though Alexandra’s family likes to antagonize Micah with Ohio State propaganda. Micah first got to meet Alexandra’s family when they came down to Pensacola for thanksgiving in 2021, and Alexandra got to meet Micah’s family when they came down for Pensacola’s Enrichment Retreat in the spring of 2022!

The Official Beginning

On June 1, 2022, Micah asked Alexandra to be his girlfriend! That summer Alexandra worked at Camp CoBeAc in Michigan, and Micah worked at a rehabilitation center near his home town in Clio. They were able to spend time with each other on the weekends, doing things like visiting Frankenmuth, Mackinac Island, fishing on Murphy Lake, exploring good coffee shops, and spending time with Micah’s family. Sophomore year of college came and went and the two grew closer to God and closer to each other. Although they spent most of their time in the library (you can probably guess who studied harder), they were still able to build friendships and to serve in various areas of ministry offered by the college. During the summer of 2023, Micah traveled on one of PCC’s Proclaim Ministry Team singing groups, and Alexandra worked at Southwest Baptist Church day camp in her home town of Cleveland. While this was the couple’s first real long-distance experience, they were still able to thrive in their relationship! Junior year of college brought new responsibilities and harder classes for both Micah and Alexandra, but through this their relationship was better than ever before. A few of their favorite parts of junior year were going on double dates with other amazing couples, serving with hard-working encouraging teams of people, and having their brothers (Ethan and Andrew) at college with them!

The Beginning of Forever

On March 29, 2024, Micah asked Alexandra to be his wife! While at Alexandra’s home in Cleveland for Easter break, Micah took Alexandra to the Cleveland Museum of Art, and proposed outside under the blossoming cherry trees. The rest of Junior year flew by, and during the summer of 2024, Micah interned at Southeast Baptist Tabernacle in Indianapolis, and Alexandra worked at the Southwest Baptist Church day camp she had worked at the year before. Micah and Alexandra are thankful for God’s abundant goodness in their lives, and are excited to see how He leads in their next phase of life together.
