In 2023, after being set up to go to prom together when they were both 16, Micah and Ava clicked instantly. The summer they started dating was the start of many new things for the two of them. They were getting to know the important things about each other’s lives such as their friends, families, and faiths.

Micah and Ava were clicking really well. Through the first year that they dated, Micah was in his senior year of high school at Perth Bible Christian Academy while Ava was in her junior year at Wells Central School. During this time Micah began seeking out his calling to study Biblical counseling ministry and he applied and was accepted into Northeastern Baptist College in Bennington. But Ava was still unsure about where she was going to go to college and what for.

When Micah graduated from PBCA in 2024, he had some thinking to do about adulthood, responsibility and God’s will for his life. Ava has always been very supportive of Micah and his desire to serve God, and she too wanted to find a way to serve God and love others at the same time. But when Micah went on a mission trip to Ecuador in 2024, he came back home with confusion and conviction over the way his life was going. Micah and Ava decided that it would be best to take a break to see what God was going to do in their lives.

During this time, Micah began at Northeastern Baptist College where he fell in love with Biblical counseling and even further into love with God. During this time Ava wrestled with what God wanted her to do after high school.

After a semester of college, Micah and Ava began reconnecting and decided to get together for lunch to help Ava sort out her thoughts about what to do and where to go after she graduates. It was then when Micah was reminded of Ava’s warmth and kindness, and they began to rekindle the flame. By February 2025 They had decided to get back together.

As Ava was searching for nursing programs and seeking God’s will for her life. She applied and was accepted into Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. Which was only 40 minutes from Bennington. Micah began seeking answers as to what would make their relationship further honor God and foster more spiritual growth. Micah and Ava had known they wanted to get married, but Micah was unsure about how soon and if it was best for his and Ava’s current season of life.

As Micah was talking about his confusion with his friend one day, his friend asked “would marrying Ava strengthen your relationship with God?” Without a doubt Micah immediately said “absolutely”. It was at this moment when Micah had decided to begin making plans to marry Ava.

In the midst of a crazy summer that included multiple jobs and opportunities for the couple. Micah had finally gotten down on one knee and asked Ava to marry him on August 10, 2025.
