Rachel and Micah first met on August 15th, 2023, at the Maranatha Bible & Missionary Conference in Norton Shores, Michigan. Micah had just graduated from the University of Michigan that past Spring, and was working there as a full-time musician. Rachel had picked up a shift at the bookstore, and decided to bring along her dog, Margeaux, to keep her company.

The welcome sight of a dog brought Micah and one of his band members over, and the first conversation between Rachel and Micah inevitably started.

689 days later, Micah proposed to Rachel on the beach of Lake Michigan - on the same grounds where they first met. Fittingly, Margeaux presented the ring, playing wing-woman one last time.
