WEDDING UPDATE:

Hello Friends and Family <img src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tfb/1/16/263a.png" width="16" alt=""><img src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tea/1/16/1f970.png" width="16" alt="">With the uncertainty of the upcoming month of May, Micah and I have decided to “postpone” our large wedding ceremony and reception on May 31. In place of our original plans, we will be having a smaller ceremony with immediate family and the bridal party on May 31st. Micah and I want everyone to know that we empathize with you and understand the disappoint that many may feel after hearing of the cancellation, as we know many have already made plans to come up to Oregon. We want to let everyone know that we are sorry that not everyone will be able to attend as originally planned, and this decision was not something we took lightly. That’s not to say that it wasn’t easy, because our number one priorities in this time of uncertainty is the health, peace of mind, and safety of our family and friends. Micah and I are extremely blessed with the kindness that has already been shown during this time.



On a different note, Micah and I are going to try very hard to reschedule the celebration in the near future (Lord willing<img src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tfb/1/16/263a.png" width="16" alt="">). So keep your ears open for future planning (Honestly probably in the distant future <img src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/tfb/1/16/263a.png" width="16" alt="">).



Finally, we want to let everyone know we are both very excited to get married in only 48 days!!! WOOHOO! We have seen the Lord provide in our lives (physically, emotionally, spiritually and relationally) these past couple weeks and are thankful for that. We are thankful and find the steadfast love of God to be an anchor and comfort. 



We think about you, family and friends, often and love you all very much.. We are praying for you and are counting the days until we can all celebrate and be together as a whole <img src="https://static.xx.fbcdn.net/images/emoji.php/v9/t6c/1/16/1f499.png" width="16" alt="">.

Attack of the Corona Virus 

Micah had been living in Oregon for a year attending Corban University and had just begun his first year as an RA in the dorms when he met Moriah.&nbsp; &nbsp;At the time, Moriah, &nbsp;just arrived in Oregon,&nbsp;from New Hampshire, to start her first year at Corban University as a freshman.&nbsp; It was during Moriah's first day of orientation&nbsp;to her new dorm that Micah flipped through room assignment keys to check her in and simultaneously check her out ;)&nbsp;

In between organizing events, working on his degree in health science, and applying to physical therapy schools, Micah began further noticing Moriah's beautiful voice, kind heart, and goofy personality. On the other hand, Moriah began asking around about the guy from Hawaii who seemed to say hi to her all the time. Finally&nbsp;one night after a bit of studying Micah reached to to Moriah to see if she would like to play some music together. Sitting down at the piano, Moriah began playing "Cant Help Falling in Love" as Micah accompanied on guitar and they both realized there was something more going on here than just 2 friends playing music.Moriah never intended on starting a relationship in Oregon, her home was in New Hampshire along with all of her family and friends. Micah never saw himself dating someone from college, and had sworn off dating anyone until he finished his degree.&nbsp;

But....

One night both Micah and Moriah were going over homework and steadily the conversation turned from school to family, our dreams of the future, and where we felt the Lord calling us. Both knew that the classic American dream of working to retire, owning 3 cars, and living comfortably were not for us. Micah knew the Lord was calling him to work with refugee communities over seas and Moriah had been feeling God calling her to work with children anywhere in the world.&nbsp; At that moment, Micah stood up and asked her to coffee the next day and Moriah said yes!

The Beginning

Never in a million years would Micah and Moriah have expected all the ups, downs, laughs, tears, and joy that would have come from knowing each other. Micah sat on her dad's birthday cupcakes the very first day he met Moriah's parents, Moriah came to Hawaii and got to be overwhelmed by all of Micah's aunties, uncles, and cousins, Micah traveled to NH to meet Moriah's family and got to learn how to start a wood stove, Moriah and Micah got to lead a missions team to Houston,&nbsp; helped each other move more times than they could count, and sat with each other when life became overwhelming and hard.&nbsp;&nbsp;They were surrounded by wonderful friends, loving family, and a great church ohana.&nbsp;Then 2 years passed...

The Middle

Micah bought the ring in September and went crazy holding onto it for 4 months. Finally, the day came to enact the 6 step engagement plan in the middle of finals week.&nbsp;1. Sing her a song comprised of music we had shared with eachother from the first time we met.2. Eat a home cooked meal while watching Parks and Rec in pajamas3. Change into nicer clothes and go ice skating at Riverfront Park4. Walk over to the railroad bridge where we went on our first date5. PROPOSE6. Celebrate with friends afterMoriah cried, Micah cried, 2 nice old ladies out for an evening jog took a picture of the newly engaged couple and now Micah and Moriah have been engaged for over one year and cannot wait to share their marriage day with you!

This hotel is right in the heart of downtown Salem and is surrounded by many restaurants, coffee shops and the beautiful riverfront park. It is central to most of Salem and it takes about 20 minutes to get to Green Villa Barn from this hotel.

The Grand Hotel in Salem

This hotel is conveniently off of the main highway. It is about 7 minutes from downtown portland and 20 minutes from Green Villa Barn.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Salem, Oregon

This hotel is about 7 minutes from downtown Salem and 20 minutes from Green Villa Barn. It is located right next to Costco, Walmart, and a main road. I have had family stay here multiple times over the past three years and can testify that it is a great place to stay! They offer a voucher for breakfast to the Denny's next door. Restaurants downtown are about 7 minutes from this hotel.

Best Western Plus Mill Creek Inn

Well, this hotel is right in Independence Oregon, so it is only 5 minutes from the Green Villa Barn. It is right in the small town of Independence, which has restaurants available. It is also about 5 minutes from Monmouth, which is another small town that is home to Western Oregon University. This small town offers many great restaurants, including great a great pizza place and a yummy Teriyaki restaurant. It is also about 20 minutes from downtown Salem. Which is home to many more restaurants, coffee shops, and parks.

This State Park is home to 10 enormous waterfalls that are all surrounded by beautiful PNW&nbsp;evergreens.&nbsp; It is probably the closest place to visit in proximity to downtown Salem.&nbsp; It is about 30 minutes away from Salem and drives through beautiful farm-land.Visit Silver Falls for a short walk to a waterfall or a longer 8 mile hike to see all ten&nbsp;falls.&nbsp;&nbsp;There is a small gift shoppe and a little lodge where you can purchase a hot beverage and enjoy the beautiful sights of the&nbsp;Pacific Northwest.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Silver Falls State Park

This classy establishment serves a variety of purposes.&nbsp; You can go early in the morning to grab a strong Oregon coffee or later at night to enjoy drinks and appetizers.&nbsp;It has a classy atmosphere where most people go to spend a night out with friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Archive Coffee & Bar

Word of Mouth is a wonderful breakfast spot and is very popular in Oregon.&nbsp; Nestled in a small house, it is usually a long wait time, but if you don't a wait.&nbsp; It is WELL&nbsp;WORTH your visit.&nbsp;&nbsp;They are well known for their hot chocolate with heaping amounts of whipped cream and their sweet&nbsp;cinnamon roll pancakes.&nbsp; If you're looking for something more savory, try one of their fluffy three egg omelettes with potatoes and toast.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Word Of Mouth Neighborhood Bistro

This restaurant is family friendly and has a wide variety of yummy food, drinks and desserts.&nbsp; It is also conveniently open&nbsp;24 hours.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Want a great burger?&nbsp; Come here!&nbsp;&nbsp;Some&nbsp;times it takes a while longer to find a seat.&nbsp; But typically people are in and out in just the right amount of time.&nbsp;&nbsp;

This is a coffee shop where you can enjoy a nice latte, a glass of wine, or a yummy sandwich.&nbsp; It is open longer than most coffee shops, so its great if you need a late night coffee or snack.&nbsp;&nbsp;
