Take your time driving up to Bundoran and enjoy some of the scenic stops along the Wild Atlantic Way.
- Glencar Waterfall, Co. Leitrim: 35 minutes from Bundoran, the waterfall crashes down onto the pools below. Really beautiful spot.
- Belbulben, Co. Sligo: On the drive in to Bundoran, you will see the famous Belbulben mountain. It is a big landmark of the entire region.
- Drumcliffe village and grave of W.B Yeats: Famous for being the final resting place of W.B.Yeats, whose grave is in the churchyard under a simple headstone.
- Mullughmore, Co. Sligo: The coastal walk around Mullaghmore Harbour is a handy 15-minute spin from Bundoran. Over the course of your stroll, you’ll be treated to views of the fairytale-like Classiebawn Castle, home to the ill-fated Lord Mountbatten, who was killed near here in 1979 when the IRA rigged his boat with explosives.
If you are looking for things to keep you busy in-between in wedding parties, Bundoran is a happening place.
- West End Cliff and Rougey walk: Enjoy the Atlantic Ocean scenery along the cliff walk. Be sure to stop at the Fairy Bridges and Wishing Chair.
- Indoor water slides at Waterworld for little and big kids. They also have seaweed baths to soak tired feet after all the dancing. Waterworld does close during the off season, so check closer to the time for opening hours.
- One of the oldest golf courses in Ireland is in Bundoran and overlooks the cliffs. The course is 18 holes and located at the Great Northern Hotel.
- Ocean dipping: There are two main outdoor pools in Bundoran, the West End (Nun’s) Pool which you can get to from the West End Walk and also the Thrupenny Pool which is located below Waterworld. The Thrupenny got its name because that used to be the price of admission (3 old pennies). Fortunately, the pools are now free and are filled by fresh seawater from the tide.
- Adventure Park: Enjoy the bumper cars, Go Karts and 360 views of Bundoran from the top of the ferris wheel.
- Surfing: The best beginner surf beaches are Tullan Strand (Located near Anya's parents house), and Rossnowlagh (15mins drive outside of town). You can surf at the town main beach but watch out for the reef. There are several surf schools in town renting boards and wetsuits.
- Feeling lucky: Try the slot machines. Ireland's version of Las Vegas!

- Sliabh Liag: The highest cliffs in Ireland, 3 times higher than the Cliffs of Moher. Amazing views!
- Killybegs: Ireland's largest fishing port. Good one for the food lovers.
- Ballyshannon: Ireland's oldest town and home to the Rory Gallagher statue. 5 minute drive from Bundoran.
- Belleek Pottery: See the visitor centre of the famous porcelain factory.
- Glencolmcille Folk Village Museum: A cluster of small cottages representing a different era of Irish history, from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.
