Michael and Carley met through mutual friends while Carley was living downtown Chicago in the summer of 2014. That fall, Michael shocked Carley, their friends, and her family, on her golden birthday, by stealing their first kiss. After months of being known as “friend boy” by Carley’s family, he finally became the boyfriend.

Fast forward to August 2018, Michael and Carley took their first big step and purchased a house together in Geneva. They took their next big step in August 2020 when they got Kobe Coco Chanel, their energetic yellow lab.

After 8 years of many weddings, vacations, annual 4th of July weekend getaways with friends, Michael took the biggest step of them all and got down on one knee in one of their favorite vacation spots, pure Michigan, where he asked Carley to marry him.
