In 2019 Mike started his thru hike of the AT in March. Devon started her adventure in May in Harpers Ferry, WV. They were both staying in Hamburg, PA and actually met at a bar called Pappy T's, not in the woods. Devon was impressed by Mike's hiker trash beard and sgraggly appearance after a few months on the trail. Of course, his story of completing the tripple 24 challenge (where you drink 24 beers while hiking 24 miles in less than 24 hours) helped. Mike was impressed she was out there in the wild and thought she was cute, if a little smelly... Thier friendship was cemented when they met again a week later in Delaware Water Gap. Since they were walking in the same direction Devon hoped she would see him again but sadly he passed right by her while she was off the trail (she went off trail to get ice cream).

Mike finished his thru hike from Georgia to Maine on July 15th and Devon completed her 1000 mile trek on July 30th. A couple months later and a spontanious text they met up for the first time since the trail in September 2019 and have been together ever since.

They adopted thier two labrador retrievers,Ridge and Summer, in 2020 and bought a house in 2021. On thier 4th anniversary they adopted another dog, Scout, and got engaged.

We cant wait to celebrate with everyone and start this next chapter of our lives!
