Michael and Katie grew up just a couple minutes away from each other in Burlington MA. Michael went to ASU after high school and lived in AZ for 17 years. After college, Katie moved to CO for 4 years and then did travel nursing throughout the country for an additional 4 years. After years of adventuring, Michael moved home in 2019 and Katie moved home in 2020. Little did they know that they'd be coming home to each other.

Shortly after Katie moved home, she found a signed Dave Matthews CD that belonged to her late brother, Kevin. She knew that Michael was with him the day he met Dave Matthews, and felt that Michael should have the CD. Katie invited Michael over to show him Kevin's memorial garden & to pass along the CD. This sparked a friendship between Michael & Katie, which then lead to dating, and now to marriage. Katie likes to think that Michael is "Kevin sent."
