At NTS Camp in 2015, Paula developed a crush on Michael who was much too old for her. Michael, of course, never noticed Paula, so she forgot about him for the next 5 years.

Michael noticed Paula at a 4th of July Pool Party for the first time. He attempted to flirt with her, but she wasn't very interested in him so his attempts failed.

Paula came back home after her first semester in college at Indiana Wesleyan University. Her older sister, Sophia, had become good friends with Michael, so Paula tagged along whenever they all hung out. Michael and Paula began a friendship bonding over IWU and their shared interest in music. One night, Michael offered Paula his IWU hoodie and she accepted, thinking to herself, "I hope I can find a man as generous as Michael some day!"

Paula came home from her first year at IWU. Michael kept asking Paula to hang out and she kept saying yes, because she really enjoyed his company... as a friend. Michael remained persistent.

After more than a year of friendship, Paula realized she was, in fact, interested in Michael as more than a friend. But her being so far away and her timidity kept the two apart for a while longer.

Paula came back home for the summer from her second year of college and Michael finally asked Paula out on a real date! She said yes:)

Michael asked Paula to be his girlfriend. They did long distance for two years while Paula finished her education at IWU. Long phone calls, Facetimes, and movie nights through the screen allowed them to create a foundation of trust and love, counting down that days until they saw each other next!

Michael asked Paula to be his wife! She said yes;)
