Now this is a story all about how
My whole world flipped and turned around
And I’d like to take a minute—just sit right there
I’ll tell you how I met my fiancé and love filled the air
In a small little town, born and raised
I was chillin’ with friends, just countin’ the days
Hangin’ out, laughin’, not lookin’ for love
When fate dropped a sign from the heavens above
When a couple of smiles, they were up to some good
Started makin’ magic in my neighborhood
I caught just one glance and my heart said, “Whoa!”
I knew in that moment I couldn’t let go
I walked up smooth, didn’t trip on my shoes
Tried to play it cool but I had nothin’ to lose
I said, “Hey, I’m Erik, what’s your name there?”
And that’s when the sparks flew right through the air
We talked all night, like time disappeared
Every word we said made the future more clear
If anything I could say that this was rare
But I thought, “Nah, forget it—this love is unfair!”
Now we’re planning our life, got a ring to declare
We’ve built something strong with so much care
If you ask how we met, I’ll always share—
That wild, perfect night when I met my forever pair

Ok....the real story.....
Michael Helen and Erik met as friends years ago but were both in separate places in their own lives. Years later, they were reunited by their mutual love for Georgia football (Go Dawgs!). From there, they began dating in early 2023 and though distance in 2 separate states and over 6 hours away was a challenge, their love for each other was strong. They would spend many weekends making time for one another through weekend visits and would talk for hours at night. As their relationship grew stronger, they began to take trips together and build relationships with their families and friends.
They took a vacation to Italy together in the summer of 2024 when Erik knew that Michael Helen was the one for him. He courageously popped the question in Vico Equence, Italy overlooking the Gulf of Naples to which Michael Helen's first response to seeing Erik on his knee was, "Are you ok?"
Within seconds of realizing what was happening, she was asked the question, "Will you marry me?" and happily and tearfully responded "YES!"
They went on to make their long distance relationship a unified relationship under one roof in buying their home together on October of 2024 where they currently reside with their 3 children: Corley, Scarlett, and Grayson.
