A jail until it closed in 1973; the museum was opened in 1975 and is operated by the Montgomery County Cultural Foundation. The museum exhibits items related to the history, culture and art of Montgomery County as well as artifacts from the jail itself. $5 for ages 12+, $3 for ages 6-11, and children 5 and under are free. Not only is this a museum but they do activities like painting ceramics, podcast listening events, and so many other fun activities you can participate in. This beautiful state park has gorgeous landscapes. There is many different trails to hike, which are not for the faint of heart. There is horseback riding, cabin rentals, a nature center, history talks and so much more! It is also only a 26 minute drive from the wedding location!
There are several golf courses in the area including Crawfordsville Municipal Golf Course, Crawfordsville Country Club, Rocky Ridge Golf Course, and Turkey Run Golf Club. There are plenty of opportunities for a round or two.
Located on US 231 in downtown Crawfordsville, Cabbages and Kings has over 20,000 sq. ft. over 3 1/2 floors and 120 different vendor booths. It is open Monday- Saturday 10:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. On Sundays they are open noon to 5:00 p.m. Along with this location there are many other antique shops within the area!
